Apprentice jockey Ben Coen registered his third winner in as many days at Gowran today as he steered the Pat Flynn trained Aunty Audrey to win the Kilkenny Apprentice Handicap (div 1).

Her stallion Zoffany had won the half hour earlier race with Zalzar and Aunty Audrey, whose jockey Coen completed a double at Roscommon on Monday, added today's win to a previous success at Cork last October.

Flynn, trainer of top class jumper Montelado, later said “I thought she'd run well today but I was a little surprised as I thought she might need it a little bit.

“He said she fought on well and she'll win another one or two I'd say; she's a nice filly.

“We thought she was nice early on, just my horses went a bit off but now they are coming back a bit. We decided to ride her prominently rather than holding her up and it worked out great for us.”
