Shane Fitzgerald registered his fourth winner in as many days and his seventh of the new campaign, as he guided Je T'ai Porte to an all the way win in the Castlerea Novice Chase.
Having made the breakthrough over fences at Ballinrobe early last month, the Gavin Cromwell-trained bay since went down by just half-a-length in a handicap hurdle at the Co Mayo venue.
Owned by the Poetry In Motion Syndicate and the only mare in the line-up this evening, the 130-rated victor was pressed before the third last, jumping slightly out to her right at the next two.
Ridden on the run-in, she maintained her advantage all the way to the line and came home three-quarters-of-a-length in front of the easy-to-back Horantzau D'airy
Odds-on in early shows for this extended two-mile heat, the runner-up was returned the 13/8 favourite under Kieran Callaghan.
The well-supported Magnor Glory didn't jump with much fluency, but finished strongly and was a further three-quarters of a length back in third.
"She's actually a very easy ride off the front, I wasn't taken on. She's absolutely super to jump," Fitzgerald commented.
"She toughed it out, I didn't know how much I had left up the straight when they came to join me but her jumping put it to bed again.
"She's a very tough mare and stayed good and honest to the line.
"She's had a few runs over fences now and that's her second win, hopefully there will be a few more days in her.
"You'd imagine they'll keep her going during the summer."
