However, this will not be the first time he has taken on seasoned campaigners as he trounced subsequent Grade One winner Fox Norton in the Game Spirit Chase at Newbury in February.
Henderson has also put Josses Hill, Theinval and Vaniteux in the two-mile feature which was reopened due to insufficient interest.
Altior's main rival is likely to be Special Tiara, who narrowly defeated Fox Norton in the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham last month.
Henry de Bromhead's charge took this prize two years ago at the chief expense of the Henderson-trained Sprinter Sacre, who won the race last season.
