Trainer Tony Mullins has issued a positive update on his stable star Princess Zoe who remains firmly on target for Thursday's Ascot Gold Cup.
Last year's runner-up will bid to go one place better when she lines up for the 2022 renewal under Joey Sheridan. After an unsuccessful trip to Riyadh in February, the seven-year-old got her season back on track when winning the Sagaro Stakes at Ascot last time.
Tony Mullins reported; "she worked on Thursday up the Old Vic. She went very well and everything seems to be fine now. She'll travel on Tuesday but there is never any travel issues with her".
The forecast quick ground isn't ideal for the grey but Mullins is satisfied she will handle conditions; " it looks like the ground will be good to firm; I'd love a little bit of rain but it doesn't look like it's coming. We aren't over worried".
The entire season has been planned around Thursday's race, with the plan always to give her one run somewhere prior to the royal meeting.
Mullins added; "from the time she was second last year we have been planning to go back to it. Everything has gone according to plan now as long as we bring home the Cup!"
