Age no barrier to 'the boss' Seskinane Seskinane, an evergreen 14-year-old, upset the odds with success in Navan's extended two mile seven handicap hurdle. Phillip Enright's mount made good headway over a mile out to close on the leaders. He came wide into the straight and challenged three out. He was soon on terms and jumped two out just behind Flooring Porter. Seskinane was going much the better, though, and as Flooring Porter came under pressure the veteran went on before the last. He popped that and kept on strongly to prevail by four and three quarter lengths at 14/1. Flooring Porter could make no impression in second. Cherif De L'isle, the 7/2 favourite, couldn't land a blow in third. He came in just over 10 lengths off the winner. Trainer Brian McMahon said: "He is a super horse - 14 years of age, and leaving the parade ring has bucked all the way to the start. "He is just a stalwart around the place; I leave the door open in his stable and he walks around the yard and is the foreman and the boss! He comes back in when he is hungry and the less you do with him the better, because it keeps him fresh and well. "That ground, this track and trip is key to him and he has done it well in the end. There is a 0-116 here in two weeks time and that's where he'll go. "He owes us nothing and is the reason I started training, so to stumble on a nice horse as your first horse is great. "I have eight in training at the moment." Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
