Gavin Cromwell sent out the first two home in the Connolly's RED MILLS Irish EBF Auction Maiden Hurdle with Aeros Luck (3/1) gaining due reward for his recent consistency.
Runner-up on his previous three starts, the son of My Dream Boat, who stands at Starfield Stud near Mullingar, tracked the leaders before hitting the front on the approach to two out.
The Damien Dillon-owned gelding quickly settled matters and went away to beat 66/1 hurdling debutant Pampar Lady by six lengths.
"He deserved that as he had been banging on the door," said Cromwell.
"He was very keen the last day but is learning and settled lovely on the flat track today.
"It wasn't a great race but was a lovely pot to win and great for the lads. He probably goes on any ground and while he mightn't want deep ground, when he learns to settle it might suit."
He added "Pampar Lady ran a cracker and I fancied her to run a cracker. I told one of the owners to have a fiver each-way and he did the forecast!
"She is also very free and needs to learn to relax but will also be fine."
