Following heavy rain at Ascot this morning the going for this weekend`s two-day meeting has eased considerably.
Rain was expected at Ascot on Monday but failed to materialise leaving the going as good to firm, good in places.
However, a racecourse spokeswoman today said: 'We had a quarter of an inch of rain early this morning and it`s still pretty miserable so the going is now good to soft, good in places.'
Giant`s Causeway has been installed the 7-4 favourite by online bookmakers Blue Square to record his sixth consecutive Group One victory in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on Saturday.
Next in the betting for the opening-day feature are Best Of The Bests, Medicean and Indian Lodge all on 5-1 with triple-Group One winner Crimplene, the only filly in the race, on 6-1.
