Timeform, the respected British racing publishers, could soon be sold, it emerged today.
Geoff Greetham, a director of the Halifax-based firm, said: 'We can confirm that we have received an approach, which may or may not lead to an offer being made for the company.'
Timeform was founded by the late Phil Bull with the first Racehorses annual coming out in 1947 and Portway Press, which produces the company`s range of publications, was formed around the same time.
A national newspaper today reported that the deal, which could be worth #10 million, was with an internet company.
If an offer is forthcoming, it will be up to Reg Griffin, company chairman and 15 per cent stake holder, and his fellow directors to make a recommendation to the other Timeform shareholders.
