Aljabr was not at his peak when winning the Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes on Saturday according to official British Horseracing Board handicapper Dominic Gardiner-Hill.
The Godolphin grey, rated 123, made all the running in the Newbury Group One contest to account for Trans Island and Indian Lodge by two lengths and a short head.
"The race worked out pretty well," Gardiner-Hill said today. "Aljabr ran to a rating of 119.
"Trans Island is rated at 115 and Indian Lodge 116. I'll probably leave them like that because I think Indian Lodge would have finished second if he hadn't drifted across the track.
"I've put Golden Silca (half a length behind Indian Lodge in fourth) up to 111 from 109.
"Sugarfoot, who was fifth, went into the race on 114 so I'll put him on 113 because he would have finished closer had he not been carried left by Indian Lodge."
Aljabr ran only three times last season.
He finished second to Sendawar in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot on his reappearance before winning the Champagne Lanson Sussex Stakes at Goodwood.
On his final start Aljabr finished fourth in the Prix du Moulin at Longchamp in September, after which he was found to be lame in a fore-leg.
"Aljabr earned his mark of 123 in the Sussex Stakes which was his best form," added Gardiner-Hill.
"He ran to 119 when he suffered his injury in the Moulin so on Saturday he was 4lb below his best."
