Albarahin got off the mark for the season in impressive fashion when running away with the Berkeley Group Conditions Stakes at Sandown this evening, scoring by six lengths from Sure Dancer.
The ultra-consistent five-year-old, who was a fine second to Lady Angharad in the valuable Tote Exacta Stakes on his seasonal debut, will now be pitched into pattern-race company.
Trainer Marcus Tregoning told Sky Sports: 'I am thinking of the Frankfurt Trophy for him next (over a mile and a quarter on September 17) and there is a very nice race on Arc weekend, the Prix Dollar, which hopefully will be his target.'
Reflecting on the virus-hit start to the season which forced him to close down operations altogether at Kingwood House earlier in the year, he said: 'They were pretty sick horses, but you give them a real long break and there`s no damage done.
'They have all come back fresh and things are going well, I`m particularly pleased with the two-year-olds. You have to look after them as they are going to be the stars of the future.'
