Following the announcement that the 2020 Breeders’ Cup World Championships will be returned to Keeneland Race Course for the second occasion on November 6-7, 2020, activities have been gathering pace to ensure that the event is a success.

The total prize money up for grabs over the two days racing will be $35 million, with a $7 million purse on the final event of the carnival the Breeders Cup Classic. There will be restrictions to on-site parking at Keeneland as on-site parking will only be available to individuals with official prepaid parking permits. Tickets availability to 2020 Breeder’s Cup Event

On March 9 the tickets for the 2020 World Championships event went on sale to the general public ahead of the November 6-7, 2020 event. Fans can visit BreedersCup.com/2020 to check out the available seating selections as well as the pricing.

To deliver an intimate and special experience to fans, attendance at the event has been restricted to 45,000. This is to ensure that attendees have an enhanced on-track experience during the event.

Single-day ticket prices for the event vary from $40-$440 for Friday event and $60-$590 for Saturday event. The two-day ticket packages are also available and they vary from $325-$1,780. It’s important to mention that tickets will only be sold prior to the event and there won’t be ticket sales at the racetrack.

As part of the preparation towards the event, Breeders’ Cup Board has approved the sum of $4 million increase to this year’s prizes, which brings the awards and purses for the 2-day event to a total of $35 million. It has also been revealed that there will be a modification in the purse payouts as it has been extended to the 10th position from current 8th position.

$2 million has been added to the purse for the Breeders Cup Turf making it the joint-highest prize money race run on Turf at $6 million.

Conclusion

This will be the second time that Keeneland will be hosting the Breeders’ Cup, one of the most prestigious international events for Thoroughbred horse racing.

When Keeneland first hosted the event in 2015 it saw crowds of over 94,000 attend over the two days and winners included the Aidan O’Brien trained Found (Turf) and the Triple Crown winner American Pharoah (Classic).
