43/1 Galway double for Mahon Locally-based Steve Mahon brought up a Galway double when the Keith Donoghue-ridden He Rock's (10/1) landed the spoils in the Colm Quinn BMW Handicap Chase. This Beneficial gelding runs for Mahon's chief owner, Tom Quinn, and he was never far away before leading at the fifth last. The chestnut, a winner before at Thurles, in February 2015, was slightly left two out but he kept on well in the straight to oblige by nine lengths from Castle Fall's. Mahon, who sent out race one winner, Cable, under Paul Townend, commented: "Keith (Donoghue) thought he went slow at Ballinrobe, and today wanted to make the running, but I told him to wait until the fourth last before sending him on - he probably won too far but it was good to win. "I thought a lot of him as a young horse and minded him but he has been disappointing to say the least. He'll go for something similar next." M.A. Enright, rider of One Fine Morning (GB) trained by Ronald O'Leary, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled. (TW & EM)
