It was four in a rows all round as Qatari Hunter added to two Curragh and Gowran wins, as his trainer, Jim Bolger, and jockey, Kevin Manning, continued their total domination of proceedings at Leopardstown. The Footstepsinthesand colt Qatari Hunter got there in time to win the premier event, the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund "Nasrullah" Handicap.
The victorious three-year-old, the only one from the classic generation in the ten furlong heat, got a patient ride from Manning, and he showed what he can do when asked for an effort in the final quarter mile.
The Mubarak Al Naemi-owned 2/1 favourite changed gear nicely from over a furlong out and he got there close home to win by a head from Tennessee Wildcat
"I've had a few five-timers but I'm not sure if I've had four out of four before," said Bolger.
"He's going the right way and there might be another one of those in him. The big target might be a race back in his owner's homeland at Christmas.
"I was a little concerned tonight as he missed a few days after the Curragh.
"I'd say he'll get a mile-and-a-half alright.
"I've won this race a few times and Graduated won it three times for me."
