28/1 Listowel brace for Lordan "She had a good run in Roscommon and probably ran up against a good one (2nd to Valentana). She needs it soft but I'm not sure if she needs it that soft," said Harry Rogers after his Gentil J came out on top under Wayne Lordan in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Handicap. The tongue-strap worn by the Jeremy filly at Roscommon was retained here and she helped Lordan to a double, earlier a winner on Galkina, beating End Play by two and a half lengths. Gentil J had looked great in the preliminaries and after getting a patient ride she got there to lead in the last hundred yards for her success. "She doesn't like being in front too soon and Wayne was very good on her. She's tough and hopefully there is another one in her," added Rogers. R.P. Downey, rider of Jeremys Joy trained by Jason Cairns, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled throughout this race. (AM & EM)
