134/1 double for red-hot Marnane The third race on the card and the final flat race of the evening, the John O'Connor Engineering Ltd Handicap for 3yo's only, went to Grace And Beauty (8/1) completing a quick 134/1 double for red-hot trainer David Marnane. This was the winning filly's fifth start for Marnane, having come from England after one run over there. Her best two runs came over the course on her Irish debut in May and on her penultimate start at Navan where she finished just over five lengths, seventh to Footcycle. Ridden by Declan McDonogh, in the colours of Marnane's wife Melaine, the daughter of Diamond Green, came from off the pace and made ground to move into second over a furlong out. She then swooped to catch, Give Me Shelter who attempted to make all, inside the final furlong and went on to win by a length and a quarter. The aforementioned front runner, Give Me Shelter finished second for trainer Bernard Heffernan at 20/1, with a further three lengths back to the third Piece D'or for Paul Deegan. Winning trainer David Marnane said afterwards: "She came from the UK. Her better runs have come at left handed tracks, while her bad efforts have been at right handed tracks. Putting two and two together, she must prefer going left handed. "The handicapper can't be too hard on her after that and she will have a bit of a break now. "Our horse are on a bit of a roll at the moment." Donal Murphy
