"Next year horse" Envol makes the breakthrough at Tramore Between a point-to-point and the track Envol Pierji’s form figures were ‘2-24’ coming into the Tramore Racecourse Annual Members Maiden Hurdle . Here the grey made the breakthrough off a 177 day break at odds of 2/5. Mark Walsh did the steering for his boss, J P McManus, and trainer Liz Doyle. Envol Pierji wasn’t seriously troubled to see off Hereditary Rule by five lengths. There was a yawning break of twenty seven lengths to the third placer Carnet De Stage. Envol Pierji is a half-brother to Willie Mullins’ Dorrells Pierji and the woman that knows him best, Miss Doyle, said: “That was nice, but he was entitled to win, and he’s going to have to improve if we step up. I think he’ll probably want three miles as he’s a big horse and probably lacks a gear. "He shouldn’t get a crazy mark off that win and we’ll probably look at a handicap or a rated novice hurdle. “He’s a good jumper of hurdles and he’ll probably go chasing next year, but he needs more experience before he does that. He’s really a next-year horse.” (AM & EM)
