R.P. Cleary, rider of Trachonitus, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was keen down the back

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident rounding the last bend involving Shigar, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed fourth, and Trachonitus, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed second, where it appeared W.J. Lee had to check his mount. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence W.J. Lee stated that he had to sit for a stride when Trachonitus leaned in but that his mount was finding nothing and it did not affect his finishing position. R.P

Cleary stated that his mount ran keen and angled in slightly rounding the bend but he felt he corrected him quickly

Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
