That's a win for all hunting men . myself and Barry are both hunting men. I'm based locally near Mondello . where they race the cars - so the horse would be well used to the noise. Cheltenham was pretty good but this is special as it's my home track. My girlfriend Caroline (Woods) spotted him in the sales. We bought him for Hugh Duffy who owns the greyhound stadium. He showed a bit of form in his younger days but then he had problems. He's just got better as he's got older . a bit of age you know . he's just a brilliant horse. He's won for me at Cheltenham and Punchestown now . we have enough of these races without travelling further afield. John Thomas (McNamara) started this horse off for me. He rode him in his first two point-to-points. That win is dedicated to John Thomas because it was him really that got that horse going for me. Peter Maher, trainer

Weights - 5-y-o 10st 12lb; 6-y-o and up 11st 7lb; Mares allowed 7lb
Penalties - (to count from 1st January, 2012) The winner of a steeplechase to carry 5lb extra for each steeplechase won. No penalty to increase a horse's weight beyond 12st 7lb. Riders: 1. Riders who hold a Licence under I.N.H.S. Rules 2. Riders who hold a Licence under National Hunt Rules to ride in Steeplechases issued by any Recognised Turf Authority. 3. Riders who hold a Category ''C'' Permit to ride under I.N.H.S. Rules 4. Riders who hold a Permit to ride in Steeplechases issued by any other Recognised Turf Authority. The Stewards of the I.N.H.S. Committee have suspended Rule 78 to enable horses which run in this race (excluding the winner) to retain their Hunters Certificates for the remainder of the 2012/2013 Point To Point Season. The Stewards have also suspended the relevant parts of Rule 135 (iv) (c) and (v) for the purposes of this race.
