She loves jumping and it won the race for her. The ground was too quick and this distance is a bit short for her but puppy (Power) let her gallop and jump which is what she does best,. I saw this race and felt it was a good opportunity. It will be interesting to see what the handicapper does. I have three runners today and they are all sisters which must be a first for Irish racing. Our Lady Lucy runs in the maiden hurdle and Too Many Notes is in the handicap hurdle. The Stewards requested a report from Mrs Denise Foster, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Not For Burning, winner, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that her previous run at Naas on November 12th was in a very hot beginners chase, that was run at a strong gallop. It was her first run of the year, and her previous runs back in February and March had been over hurdles, and the plan was to jump out and make the running as is her preference. However, because the field went such a strong gallop, her mare was unable to make the running, and had difficulty lying up with the pace, and ran disappointedly as a result. In the meantime, her mare has shown the benefit of having her first run of the season in Naas, and returning to a track where she has ran well at in the past, she was able to jump off and make all, and this may have brought about any apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanations offered. P. Townend, rider of Thanks For Tea trained by Edmond Kent, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran flat.
