I was going to leave him off after his win at Killarney as I thought the ground would get too hard but a few pieces of work recently had him right for today and the ground suited him. He'll be left off now and will come back for Open Lightweights and more hunters chases and I'd love to run him in the Foxhunters (Chase at Cheltenham) - he missed it last year as he had a virus. The Stewards interviewed Mr S.G. Carey, rider of Dr Duckett, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion Mr. S.G. Carey was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (g) in that he had used his whip with his arm above shoulder height, and having considered his record, they cautioned him.
