The Stewards enquired into the fall on the flat of Much Wants More, ridden by R.A. Doyle as they turned into the straight. S. A. Shortall reported that from his position it appeared that Much Wants More switched to the outer and caught a heel from a horse in front of him. The Stewards confirmed this on the video evidence. R.A. Doyle was unavailable due to injury. Having considered the report and viewed a recording of the race the Stewards took no further action. The Stewards requested a report from Desmond McDonogh, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Star Power, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that he left the hood off this horse today as he had been getting too relaxed in his races recently, he also felt that today's good going was ideal and that the horse got a nice run up the inner. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards (123 = 11st 10lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 11st 10lb
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle after calculation of the handicap to carry 6lb extra for each hurdle race won Any horse rated above 123 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 123 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four year old rated above 123 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
Riders - Confined to Professional under I.N.H.S. Rules who have not lost the right to claim the allowance under Rule 52 (iii). Allowances (up to and including 1st September and which are not cumulative) who have not ridden the winners of 25 *races allowed 4lb Those who have not ridden the winners of 40 *races allowed 2lb No allowance to riders under Rule 52 (iii) may be claimed.
