Hilden made history as Tote Racing’s first winner when she forged on after the last to win the two mile two handicap hurdle.
This was Hilden’s first win on her 15th attempt. Davy Condon did the steering and he brought her into contention in third coming to the second last. She hit the front after jumping the last and kept on well up the hill to reward her backers at 8/1.
Successful trainer Gordon Elliott said: “She was tough. Davy said they went off very fast and she was off the bridle. It’s great for Tote Racing as it’s their first winner. I bought her in Ascot Sales for 800 quid.”
Noel Hayes from Tote Ireland was in attendance and said: “It’s something we did for Tote customers. Every time she runs we do a draw for ownership. That’s our first horse and the prize-money is distributed among the owners.” House Limit at 25/1 got runner-up money, a head in front of 7/1 shot Magnetic Force Dream Nolan the 11/10 favourite was a further half a length down in fourth.
