The 45-70 handicap at Limerick over an extended six furlongs produced a notable winner as 10lb claimer Wesley Joyce partnered 3/1 favourite Trueba to victory, providing the Moyross native with a winner at his local track.
The 17-year-old had ridden his first winner on 50/1 chance Hands Down at Sligo last month.
Often ridden prominently, Trueba was waited with on this occasion and the gaps came for Joyce in the straight, as he came through on the rail to head Musalsal (4/1) in the final furlong.
The 5-year-old by Alhebayeb ran on to score by a length and notch a fourth career success.
Denis Linehan, assistant to winning trainer Johnny Murtagh, said: “Johnny was full up earlier in the year and sent this horse to my brother Eddie to take the pressure off. A stable became available after his run at the Curragh the last day so Johnny took him back.
"Eddie buys all the horses for Johnny at the sales so they are in close contact and he winters a few horses for Johnny. He is a very easy horse to train and Johnny leaves the apprentices ride him and he has been very rewarding."
A delighted Wesley Joyce added: "That's my second winner, and my first at my local track. It is a pity that none of my family can come along.
"I'm with Johnny a year and a half now and this is my first winner for Johnny. I think he'll be very happy with the ride I gave it and I can't wait to go back to see him!"
