That was fantastic for a 12yo, he hasn't seen a fence for a while but he jumped like a buck. Casey gave him a perfect ride, identical to the ride he gave him at Fairyhouse last year.

That's not bad for an 11-year-old. Niall McCullagh said last time at Wexford to drop him back in trip and he was spot on. He'll probably go for a race on Cambridgeshire day at the Curragh, another Derrinstown race. He'll probably have a break after the Curragh and go back over fences.

I'm absolutely thrilled. He's a good horse and we bred him ourselves. It's wonderful to get a big race with him,. He's a pleasure to have. He's a fairly wound up little horse but always performs when he goes racing. The intention is to go chasing. He's ten now and I think we'll give him a year or two chasing.

The Pierse had been the plan for ages but with 30 runners, and him being a hold up horse, he was always going to be too far off them,. He pulled out fresh after that and with the small field here we decided to let him take his chance. Ruby said he hated the ground.
