I have ridden him in the past and he had a heavier weight when I rode him at Naas and has come back down the handicap now. My father Walter Power trained track and point-to-point horses and is farming now and I started off with ponies and then riding racehorses at home. I ride out for Paul in the mornings and David Kiely in the evening. That is mighty and Alice deserved it as she works hard. She is very dedicated and rides and schools our young horses as well. I'm delighted for her as she is with us every morning as we are busy enough with point-to-pointers. She is very good to us. The horse is 12 but there is still life left in him and for some reason he seems to love it around here. He might come back here at Easter as he acts better here than anywhere else. We have mostly point-to-pointer horses which are going well and had a nice four-year-old horse which we recently sold.

For some reason he seems to love this place, maybe it is the level track but he does seem to like it around here, although all his form had been on softer ground. My brother Richie normally rides him as an amateur but the race was part of 'The Gentleman's League' and John was drawn to ride him. John is a local lad to us from Dungarvan so I'd know him and I was happy to have him. Today was the plan for a while and he'll run away for the summer although I wouldn't run him on fast ground.

It is nice to get him off the mark on the track and he has three point to points won. He was bred at home and will be there forever more now. The soft ground helped him more than anything today and I thought Tyner's horse (runner-up Womalko) would beat him when he made the mistake at the last but he battled well. That's my third racecourse winner and I only have a handful for the track and have mostly point to pointers. We're always looking to get some more. My father owns him and my brother Tom is a farrier and shoes him. It is a family run thing and the horse gets his name from Tom, who is known to throw a few moves!
