He gave an exhibition of jumping and was very long at the fourth last. He was like a two-year-old down in the yard as he kept sweating up and we had to keep taking him out of his box. The Galway Plate is a possibility if he got a reasonable weight. He's a privilege to train as he travels so well and is so enthusiastic.

How did he win from there? We might make a flat jockey out of Shay yet! . I ran him too soon after the Galway Plate when he pulled up at Cork. He was going to get a break then, but I gave him a piece of work the other morning and he worked better than he had done before Galway so we let him take his chance. He was thrown-in here on his hurdle and chase ratings. He'll have a little break now and the aim then would be the Grade 2 (the Gowran Park Champion Chase) that the won in Gowran last year.

He might run under a mandatory penalty at Gowran on Sunday. He didn't do a stroke when he got to the front, just idling a bit. He won a chase at Tramore last time and he'll go chasing again soon. He'll probably go for a chase in Galway.

If I had three or four like him it would make the job a lot easier!. Compared to his chase rating he was well in and he likes that good ground. He could go back over fences and we'll look for a nice chase over the summer. He'll mix it. He's only rated low on the Flat as well and we could look for a two-mile Flat race. We'll get something in Galway for him or some of the other festivals.

He is a good little horse and he jumped and travelled great. We might give him a Cheltenham entry now but we'll probably have to get another win into him to get in there.

He loves it around here. Shay said he was hating the ground at the top of the hill but he came up the hill at the end strongly. He is so highly rated that it is hard to know where he'll go next. If we could find a suitable race for him at Cheltenham he'd go there. He is not as effective over hurdles but he is only rated 114 at that game so we have the option of going for a handicap.

that's The Fonze's tenth career success and my biggest winner. He's always been a great horse for us and I knew there was a big race in him.

He was very sick earlier in the year. He did really well as I thought he might be a bit short of fitness for today. I'd say it was pure ability that got him through as he's a class horse. We may go back hurdling over a trip he is also very well handicapped on the flat. Mickey did really well and he is one of the best seven pound claimers in the country.
