Reports in which Sounds Victorius (IRE) was mentioned
Sounds Victorius rallied gamely to seal a quick-fire double for Paul Townend in Fairyhouse and an across-the-card treble for Willie Mullins.
Wed 01st Jan
The Connolly's RED MILLS Irish EBF Auction Maiden Hurdle looked at the mercy of Willie Mullins' Cheltenham bumper fourth Sounds Victorius but the 2/5 (from 1/4 before the off) favourite was turned over by 40/1 rules debutant Rockymountainbleu.
Fri 15th Nov
There is plenty of racing action today with a National Hunt card at Punchestown, an eight-race Flat fixture under the lights at Dundalk and Irish interest across the water as the three-day Cheltenham November meeting gets underway.
Fri 15th Nov
The Midland Legal Solicitors Flat Race became a four-horse contest after recalcitrant third-favourite Jordann was left at the start but in truth only the market principals counted as Patter Merchant got the better of Sounds Victorius.

He’s a lovely big type, a real chasing type. He’s just really laid-back and he just idled. When the other horses came around him, it took him a while to pick up and go again. With the new configuration of hurdles here, so they don’t have to take them out because of sun, there is a lot of racing without a hurdle. Paul said he lost complete interest going down the back. It’s a better system, though, if they can have all the jumps in and I applaud Fairyhouse for that. It looks like he’s crying out for a further trip. We’ll be aiming him higher now and he might be an Albert Bartlett type. He’s out of a Presenting mare, so he’s going to stay all day and he’ll go on better ground.

You could see he was learning all the way up the straight in Leopardstown (runner-up on debut). Obviously, he didn’t take all those lessons to heart and had to relearn today. He did it the hard way, but is obviously full of stamina. I was very happy with Inn At The Park as well and he’ll win before too long.
