definitely representing the elderly!. but also expressed his delight with the display, with his mind also fixed on future plans. that was great and every time he (Sizing Europe) runs it's a relief as you are thinking that some time he will show he's not up to it as much as he was. I say it everytime but we're so lucky to train him; he's incredible. The work he's doing at home is great and the lads can't hold him! He loves it and Rosemary, who does the Flat work on him, writes notes everyday and they just say 'he's in super form'!. Andrew (Lynch) said he gave a nice blow at the second last and he should improve a nice bit. I wouldn't mind stepping him up now and giving him another crack at three miles on good ground. He deserves another shot at the race in the north (James Nicholson Wine Merchant Champion Chase at Down Royal) as he was second to Kauto Star in it and just lost out to Quito De La Roque. There are so many other races but he might just be a bit slow for two miles now. I thought Baily Green ran savage and it was a good advertisement for last year's novices.

He looked like he was going to win easy but in, fairness to Rubi Light, he came back at him. He could have gone faster early on and when I saw him running keenly early on, I wasn't feeling that comfortable. There are no easy Grade 1's but when you are 1/3 favourite you expect to win. That was the pressure today. He'll probably be entered in three races at Cheltenham (Champion Chase, Ryanair and Gold Cup). His performance in the Clonmel Oil was great, certainly more impressive than today, and maybe he needs two and a half miles now. He could go for something like the Red Mills Chase at Gowran Park. We'll have to have a think about it.

I'm delighted with that. I felt he was a bit scratchy but he's like that on his first run every year. He nearly fell a few times here last year. He just likes to get his eye in on his first run but as it gets on in the season he really starts to attack them. It's a lovely way to start and we're looking forward to the season. There are three races to consider for him in November. The three-miler in Down Royal (jnwine.com Champion Chase), the Fortria Chase at Navan or a conditions race at Cheltenham. We'll try to space it out, so we'll run in one of them and then something at Christmas. He's so good at two miles, two and a half miles and two and three quarters but three miles, I just don't know. I want to speak to Ann and Alan (Potts) but he has loads of options.

myself and Andrew (Lynch) are delighted!. Andrew said he didn't jump like he normally does but I thought he was brilliant! He just popped a few because of the ground and didn't let ‘fly' but it was a savage performance and it is straight to Cheltenham now and that's the prep run out of the way. Hopefully he is ok in the morning and we'll roll on from there - he is an amazing horse to be involved with. I'm probably only brave enough now to make the running with him . it has taken me six years to let him roll on at his own pace. In most of the top races there is plenty of pace on so he didn't need to do that but I said to Andrew to just go out and enjoy himself. Travelling (to Britain) is like having another race and it's great to win a race at Punchestown. It is great for Irish racing to have two champions running here and this was a stepping stone for both horses - they are usually so close and I'm sure they'll be a lot closer come Cheltenham!

He was good there, for his 1st time over fences at Punchestown I thought he was very good. Denis said he was electric to jump and I suppose he looked it. I was very worried about running him over 2 ¿ miles and the heavy ground.
