He just stays galloping all day, he needs a trip. He got hampered a little bit at the old double, it wasn't ideal but he was hard and finished out strong. He loves the banks and we aim him for these races the whole time. The ground was just against us all season, we wants good ground. He won on firm here when taking the Ladies Cup and La Touche in one week. I was delighted to see it drying a bit here yesterday. He's lightly-raced and we'll see how he comes out of this. He's declared for Saturday and we'll see tomorrow how he is.

I'm delighted. He would be better over an extra mile. Barry gave him a really good ride. Rightback Atya (stable companion) took him along at a right good gallop and he probably just wants the ground a little bit softer, but it helped Banjo anyway. He needs every yard of three mile one. We could do with another half mile but there just aren't races like that here. I'll speak to John (Walsh, owner) and Barry and see if there are any three and a half mile chases in the UK. Some of the lower grade ones would be worth looking at. I think he'd be so much better with an extra half a mile in front of him. It's up to the Walshs though, whatever they want to do. Today was his first handicap and he was only running off of 81. He loves the bit of good ground and the further the better. I guess his last two outings over the banks didn't do his head any harm either.

it's unbelievable but as I said before it's a family success and it's all about the Walsh family. Aaron, Barry's brother, owns him and their father John trains him for all the point-to-points so this is just an honour for me. They have banks at home to school their horses and I've run them in the banks races for them for a number of years and we absolutely love it.'. two years ago he got a little cut on a hind leg and was a bit sore so didn't turn up in the La Touche. I always thought that he'd be better over four miles than three and I was questioning whether he should have run in the Ladies Cup the other day so this is just marvellous. I've seen him running in the point-to-points for John and he'd look slow. We ran him in a few hunter chases to have him as fit as we could go today and he was so outclassed by a lot of those horses in Fairyhouse a few weeks ago. When he goes out there he just latches on to the bridle and he loves it. He's so small, nimble and fast over these fences. He's very good at it.

today is wonderful but I don't think I'll be vying for champion trainer at the end of the week! I might not even have another runner. I very much enjoy this and you'd think there was a crowd around me with the roars up in the stands. I absolutely love it and that's why I'm doing it.
