I'm thrilled with that, he couldn't have done it any better. He'll go a winners of one next. I think Dad was harbouring hopes of winning another big one on the flat so that's why he hasn't started at this game until now. After that this looks his real vocation.

It was a good performance and a power packed ride from PJ Smullen, which probably won the day. Everything had to go right to win today. It was a much classier race. He's a horse that will be very impressive against a lesser class of horse but against better horses he had to battle. He's a big powerful horse and likes to get things his own way. He had to move up a gear today and against better horses you can see his limitations. Age is catching up with him a bit. He needs a break as he's a horse that needs to be fresh. He has been schooled over hurdles and jumps well. He could make into a nice hurdler and that would keep him sweet. A horse with his pace should be able to dominate and he'll enjoy being taken back all the time. He loves to jump and show off - he's a character.

He did it well, the break came at the right time for him and he loves this place. Provided he comes out of the race ok he will be back here for the big handicap on Saturday under his mandatory penalty.

I'm glad the line came when it did. He did what we expected him to do. He's the lead horse for Profound Beauty that's his main job so you won't see much of him now as he'll be busy at home.

Rock Critic is an odd type of horse and can give trouble entering stalls but today he was at his best behaviour and I was delighted to be drawn wideish with him. He will run again at Naas on Monday.

Shane gave him a great ride, this horse is a bit of a character. Being drawn on the outside probably helped this fellow and he got his day and he just might have another day next week at Galway.,
