We’ve been trying for years (to have a winner at the Festival) and have had loads of seconds. It’s great to get it. Every jockey that rode him this year has said he’s a Galway horse, and I said we have him fit enough as he’s ran plenty!

I was a bit worried about the ground but it was drying here all the time, and the drainage job here seems to have worked well. Chris said he was a horse that might just suit Galway as he has good early pace and seems to cruise along. I nearly didn’t run him today only there was such a small field. They are running well, and we had six seconds in the last ten days so it’s nice to get a winner.

We fancied him all week for this. We thought he had improved from last year. He was working with the horse that ran here last week (Early Call) and he was better in than some of them there. Gary said he found it hard to settle him and he needs to learn to race properly. He's a big strong horse but he was a weak horse last year, it takes time. We wouldn't normally have come here but for the meetings being changed. Most of my horses like a bit of give in the ground.
