“He came out of the race very well. But you have to pay credit to the winner. I'd hate to be taking him on again and I think we'll avoid him! We might step up in trip now to two-and-a-half and the Slaney Hurdle at Naas in pencilled in to his programme. Whether we go or not we'll see in the next ten days. He'll probably do most of his racing on slower ground and if Cheltenham was anyway quick we wouldn't even consider it. Bar it was a soft Cheltenham he wouldn't go and we'll make use of him on the winter ground. He's not the biggest and doesn't really have a chaser's build but that's not saying he couldn't go chasing in the future. He's likely to stay hurdling for the time being though. He's a good tough little fellow and tries his heart out. He's also a good jumper which makes like easier.”

It's great to get him back on the track. The plan was just to get him started back and I was more anxious to start back at two miles although I think he'll be better over further,. Overall his jumping was very good. We're in no great rush with him but I could look at one of the novice hurdles back here at Christmas. He broke down after he ran at the Curragh and was given a year off. He scanned clear last December but Barry decided just to let him off till the summer. That was probably the most sensible thing to do and fair dues to him as he has been very patient.
