That's my first double, which is mighty. That's a pleasant surprise with that lad,. I knew he'd handle the ground no bother and maybe the trip. Dylan said after the last day at the Curragh over seven to maybe go up in trip. He got the trip today and he battled. He travelled fierce well so I'm thrilled with him. On ratings, I honestly thought fourth was the best we could do today. He was meeting three horses wrong, but it just goes to show on that ground. He seemed to love a good ease in the ground and the race worked out great for him. Often these races don't turn out the way you'd be expecting and that's why we let him take his chance in a small field. He's going to the sales and that's probably his last run for me. He'll be going to Newmarket for the horses-in-training sale. After today he's going home for a break and then to the sales.

I'm delighted with him and he was impressive. When the rain came I was delighted as while he seems to handle all grounds, he goes on soft ground and it seems to help him better,. He is a big raw horse and we put cheekpieces on today to help him concentrate as he can be a bit lairy. Dylan said he felt great though. He is big enough to jump hurdles and, long-term, that's probably where he will end up, although probably not for Ballygallon Stud (owners). He might be sold at the end of the year and he would make a smashing hurdler.

The hood helped. We had the red hood on him the last day, took it off and when he went into the stalls there was a bit of rattling. Ben said he got upset so we left it on him today. He's a horse we've always liked, he has a big engine and is a good striding horse. In fairness to him he battled well today when the second came to him. Hopefully he can go on and keep progressing because he works better than this rating. Mentally he's probably still a little immature but that should do his confidence the world of good. We think he's well handicapped so we'll look for a handicap next. Seven is good and I think he will get a mile, the last time he just got himself a bit upset. He's a horse I always thought would get a mile but maybe seven again next time.
