3:40pm There's the the usual eccentricity to this event with the 2009 and 2010 winners renewing rivalries. Shin A Vee won in 2009 but was narrowly beaten by COOL WARRIOR the following year and, while Derek O'Connor is a notable booking, Shin A Vee has been absent for 772 days and is now passed over. Preference is for 12 year old COOL WARRIOR, who at least has proven fitness on his side. The other 14 runners have mustered just 10 point to points wins between them and finding a form alternative to either of the two previous winners is difficult. Ten year old Norwich Flyer has three point to point wins to his name though and may play a prominent roll while Enniskillen, who worringly is still a maiden point to pointer, ran ok in the Ladies Cup on Tuesday and has minor claims. The Begrudger is a dual point to point winner a long time ago but hasn't shown anything worth mentioning recently. (TW)

He runs well for Rachael. He's always been like that. If he likes a jockey he goes well for them,. I think the drying ground was a help. When he was young he was able to handle heavy but as he's got older he's not able for it. I put the blinkers on him to help him focus. We'll see what the handicapper does and we might go back to Fairyhouse for the race on Easter Tuesday that he won last year. He's better on the bigger tracks.

He always seems to be better in the spring. He'd a bad fall a few years ago and is only really coming right now. He'd blinkers on today and he carried Jonathan better. He jumped well out of that ground.

Mr Goodenough might go handicap chasing now. With the penalty system in hunters' chases, he would have to carry 12st 7lbs in next year's race and he isn't a big horse. He will go out on his holidays now as he wants soft ground and will probably go handicap chasing later in the year.
