All my lad does is stay and he wasn't stopping at the line. He's 10 now but he's still fresh and well and Ian does a great job with his horses, turns them out every day and keeps them sweet. The ground is soft and they're getting into it. I only have him since April and he's a very easy horse to train, the less you do with him, the better. He's good in theses claimers and I'm happy to have him at the moment because the jumpers haven't been running great!. He's in at a fair price but, if we still have him, there's another claimer for him in Sligo the week after Galway. Dylan's father John owns part of him and wasn't able to be here today. He's mad keen to have a photo on the mantelpiece of himself and Dylan after a winner, so hopefully that might happen at Sligo!

I told Ian not to run him and to keep him for a race in Tramore!. He is a grand horse, had a nice run in Limerick the other day and this claiming race came up. Yesterday's ground would have been perfect for him but has tightened up since. when Sheila (Lavery, trainer) had him, he was running in Premier Handicaps and Dick Donohoe got a good twist from him too. He's a fun horse in those races and if he's not claimed, he will take a bit of whacking in that Tramore race in a few weeks time.

He's in top order. They made it hard for him up front, but he still found plenty. We thought the trip was on the sharp side but I suppose the favourite (Bringsty) didn't run his race and that was a help. We'd like to hold onto him, but we'll see what happens.

It is nice for Paul (Sweeney, owner) to get a quick return after claiming him at Limerick and I'm delighted for him. Paul is from Letterkenny and he has had horses with me for a few years now. We saw this race after Limerick and there are not many other claimers coming up to suit him. He will probably go back to handicaps now if he is not claimed. There are a few options in Galway for him and he could go there, if Paul wants a day out we will probably go there.

He is rock solid, has won plenty for us and the Dooley lads who own him have plenty of premier handicap horses. They have got great fun out of him and he is in at a claimable price. . If he is claimed he is claimed, and I won't cry on the way home but we have had great fun and he is well handicapped over hurdles for someone who wants to go hurdling. The ground went soft the last day he ran over hurdles and he wasn't right.

I think the ground is the key factor. When he was a younger horse you would have said he wanted a bit of cut but he didn't want it today,. We weren't going to run him but I just felt that this track would suit and the trip as well. He's in again at Roscommon on Monday and he might be declared. The last time he won Adam rode his first winner on him, last year in Navan. He's a great fun horse. I'd say the boys will sell him now at some stage as they have a lot of horses and he's not going to be a premier handicap horse. Adam did a great job on him there. He's the type of horse that will come out some days and run a really good race and other days he'll let you down. He definitely wants nice ground.

that was great and I’m delighted for Rory as he was to ride him in the Lincoln but the horse didn’t get in. He’s ridden work for me, and gave him a beautiful ride. I was surprised he got away with the ground. He toughed it out but Rory said he wouldn’t want that too often. This was worth so much and the race broke up a lot so I had to take a chance. He’ll be entered in all the big handicaps at Galway, and I think he’s more effective on soft ground. It’s not that I target Galway but I just have a lot of soft ground horses. If it’s only yielding (at Galway) the mile might be a bit sharp for him but if it gets soft there are more options.

As a two-year-old I think he got stage fright as we always liked him. His first run this year at Gowran he was all over the shop and didn’t have a clue. Today Robbie said he was much more professional but it was only near the line that the penny was starting to drop and he thinks there is a huge amount of improvement still in him. He rode a hurdle winner last night and now on the Flat — how cool is that! I’ve been training five years and Robbie has been with me every day since I started. I kept asking him to lock his fridge and now he has!. We’ll see what the handicapper thinks and take it from there.
