The last day we took the cheek-pieces off at Galway and he ran a bit free and the ground was a bit too good too and he likes a bit of juice. He is a fine big horse and we'll try and get another hurdle win out of him before going chasing. Simon (Cavanagh) gave him a good intelligent ride and waited. He was with us for a year when he finished school years ago and is a great lad to work and ride. That's his first hurdle winner and his father Richard owns and bred the horse.

he had a nice run in Tipperary in his first handicap which was promising and Davy Russell did the finishing touches today. Ambrose (McCurtain) was to be riding him but got a fall in Kilbeggan yesterday and couldn't stand today as he got a kick on the backside. My horses were off colour during the winter and we weren't doing much but we seem to be back again. This fellow wants good ground and we'll look for another handicap next.
