she took a good blow and Ruby said she needed it badly. When he asked her to move up she moved up nicely, and did everything he asked her. She jumped a bit slow for my liking when she wasn’t on the bridle but when he gave her the office to go she sharpened up her jumping. Ruby said she was idling in front. The tight inside track today wouldn’t suit her either. That’s job done and hopefully we’ll get a clear run from now to Cheltenham. The Champion Hurdle is where we are aiming. That’s the owners' plan and our plan. Things can change and she is in other races. She got her flu jab last week and we missed a week’s training which is not ideal. I wanted the last week to sharpen her up and have her really hopping. We had to take a pull, and I’m happy knowing how we would normally shape her training coming up to a race like this. We’ll have to sharpen her up over the next few weeks. She was a very buzzy mare before and she has matured so maybe that’s why she looked very settled. The buzz and bustle of Cheltenham will really sharpen her up and for a Champion Hurdle she is going to have to be sharper. We knew we were going to have pace in the race today with Stormy Ireland who is a nice yardstick too. We knew it wasn’t going to be a pushover. She beat nothing in Sandown but looked sharper. She looks every inch a mare that can go chasing, and we’ll just see how she gets on in the meantime.

She's a good novice, she'll have to achieve a bit more to get the heights of some of the mares that have been there (in Closutton) but she is doing everything right and going the right way. I think she was cantering everywhere and she just seems to be a lot better than the rest at the moment. If all is well we'll go on to Punchestown with her - we'll see how she comes out of the race. That's good to get her Grade One there so very pleased. She could go for a novice race at Punchestown. The mares’ race is an open race which would be tough. I’m going to leave it open and I wouldn’t be worried about trip. She could go out to three (miles) easily and has enough ability to do two miles. We’ll have to see how the other horses that ran at Cheltenham fare out over the next few days. It’s not going to be easy for them especially on that ground as it’s very tacky. She handled it well.

She's a fine, big mare. If there was ever going to be a mares' chase in Cheltenham, she's the type of horse you'd want for it. Her two runs at home have been very good, but to do that against the best in the British Isles is unbelievable. There's a Grade One in Fairyhouse at Easter. If she recovers we might go for that.

It looked a very good performance. She's shown me that she's a nice mare at home. In Tramore she did what she did but today looked a bit special to put away some very nice mares on that ground. I don't think she jumped particularly well during the race either. I think her jumping will improve and she can improve again. She's a nice mare to have. It's just experience, she was in behind with a lot of muck coming back in her face today. Paul just reminded me that she got a fright at the first at Tramore and he thought she was just remembering that today and then she settled into jumping. When he gave her a squeeze going to the last she opened up and ended up on top of the hurdle rather than jumping it properly but he was happy other than that. She has size and scope as well. It looks like she'll go for the mares novice at Cheltenham.
