That was an easy opportunity for him, he needs to go right-handed. There aren't many opportunities for him for the next month. He may go to Galway, I think there's a race for him there at the end of September. I think if there's a graded race we might look at running there. If it is two miles one (in Galway) it might be a bit short. This race was ideal for him, it was a good place to start off. The whole thing backfired a bit at Galway. We ran him in the big handicap there and the way the race was run just didn't suit him. He needs to be there in front dictating it. He got boxed in and couldn't get out. He pops away, he is cute to jump. I would love to try and come back to win the Ulster National but he is going to be too highly handicapped for that job. He needs to go right-handed so that rules half the place out! He does need a trip. He had plenty left there. If another horse comes to him he'll battle. He won a graded race at Fairyhouse one day. When another horse comes to him he sticks his neck out and tries. He's hard out.

Deccy gets on very well with him. He has been jumping to the right though you wouldn't see it there. He was a lot better and slicker. He needs a right-handed track. We'll look at Punchestown. We were here today to retrieve his form and reinvigorate him. It has brought him back to life. He'll probably go for the three mile race at Punchestown that he was fifth in last year. He's been running in very high-class handicaps. He did win a 50 grand race at Fairyhouse. He's an out and out stayer and he needed the good clip there. He'll go fencing next year. I have 20 horses and nearly all are four-year-olds. Jimmy is nearly the only one for the track.

Believe it or not that was always the plan. The three miles is right up his street, and all he does is stay. Declan gave him a brilliant ride. You have to ride him up against the rail to stop him jumping right, and being there you need a bit of luck to get a run. That's pay back for Leopardstown (fell when leading at the last). If the ground is not too quick he could go to Punchestown but we'll have to see how he comes out of this. I think he'll improve for another year as he's still immature.

He's a dour stayer and all he does is just gallop. Last season he was very sticky with his jumping and jumped to the right. It took a while to sort out and his experience probably told today. He wants soft ground. He did a serious piece of work at Maralin the other day, and we'll look for a staying novice at Christmas.
