I would have been disappointed if he got beaten the form he was in at home. Since Bellewstown, he really came on very well. He is 21lb lower on grass than he is on all-weather, but he needed every yard of it. You don't want muddling pace, he has to have something fast and something to aim at. James said he had a job pulling him up, he only got going at the end. I was going to put him in at Fairyhouse on Monday, but I just don't think Fairyhouse suits him. It is six furlongs on a bend and is just too muddling for him, he needs room. Six up the Curragh in one of those handicaps if the ground stays dry and then back to Dundalk.

He was going nowhere at the beginning of the straight, the usual. A strong pace and he seems to know where the line is!. He just got stopped at the wrong time as well and just had to snatch him up. He seems to love it up here. He always does it the hard way!. Newcastle for the All-Weather Championships is definitely what I am looking at now. I'd probably rather go to Newcastle (than Lingfield). He deserves to get a decent pot at this stage. I'm still of the opinion that he will win on grass. He ran a blinder on his first run back in Bellewstown where he finished out in his normal way. Then he seemed to lose his form more than anything else, he just wasn't firing. Maybe it is just here, but he has earned a try at Newcastle. He's a nice horse to be able to run in those type of races.

He (Ryan) has a great record on him. Tonight was probably the best I've seen him, if anything it looks like he is getting better. He is probably travelling better than he has done too and has been in serious order at home. We'll leave him along until after Christmas. This doesn't start back until 12th January and I haven't gone through what is coming up for him. He loves it up here and is just in a great place at the minute.

he has been coming into great form at home, he was very well the last week and we were fairly hopeful of a big run again. The strong pace was ideal for him, he just loves coming off a strong pace and still only does enough. He will probably come back here next week for an 80-rated five furlong race, then we'll leave him alone until the new year. As long as he is in that kind of form, we'll keep him going. James has got very polished and strong, he knows those horses well which is a big plus and it is great to have him.

he's been a right old servant to me, Tom and the owners. He's had six wins here and is very consistent when he gets back here. He's been disappointing on the grass but after coming back here recently, he seemed to have a bit more life about him at home. I just had to wait for the gap to open but it actually kept me in for long enough as once I got there he didn't do too much. I was happy I got there at the right time. We were happy that the visor would bring a bit more improvement as he can be a lazy old horse. He can jump out and travel well some days and other days he can jump out and not try at all. He's a quirky old horse but once he puts his mind to it he's well able to do it.

He's held his form well for a lad that's been on the go all year. He always gives you the impression that he's just holding on to a bit a lot of the time. He's doing things a lot better now, he's getting into a nice position and when he gets over that first furlong he travels away well now. He just does enough and hopefully the handicapper can't really do too much with him. It's great to get him back in that kind of form again, he was a little bit frustrating during the summer even though he was running well. It's hard to get five in a year with a horse like that so it's great and great for Olly as well. He's a long time patron and deserves every bit of success. He bred him and the dam is in foal again to Elzaam.

I think he only does enough. He likes to get a bit of daylight, he got the clear run when he was coming through. He doesn't like getting boxed up in behind horses. The last day he won here, and today, he travelled a lot better. There were other times he was getting too far back and just wasn't travelling. It is only now he has started to travel. The recent three quick runs might have just flattened him a little bit and ideally, I suppose five and six (furlongs) seems to be his trip. It is not too many of them win four. He's a lovely horse and is in here on Friday, but I'll see what is coming up; it is 50/50 he runs.

That's the best I've ever seen him travel. I just said running him back quickly might just spark him. He jumped out well the last day but within 50 yards he was on the back foot again. It is nice to see him lie up there better today. I have him entered over seven here on Wednesday. He was third over seven at Leopardstown over the summer. He did the same thing, he was going nowhere turning in. I don't know what his trip is!. Obviously he has won his three over five, so that seems to be his trip. A lot of the time, no matter what trip you run him over, he seems to be doing his work at the end. That's the first time I've actually seen him travel as well as that. We'll have a think about Wednesday, I just don't know about the seven. I'll have a look at what is coming. He is well and he's a hardy horse. Even when he got to the front, he was doing nothing there. I'll probably have five or six horses for the winter up here.

He just struggles a bit to go with them early on - it was the same the last day, but when he gets balanced and gets a bit of daylight he picks up well. It probably suits him over five when they go that quick as they are coming back to him in the straight. Six will probably be better for him but you'd never know when he gets the hang of it more. I didn't think we'd get into one of these again, I thought we might get a bit more than 4lb for the last day so it was great. I hadn't intended running him back so soon but when this opportunity came up we said we'd take it. We'll see how he is after it but he'll handle the grass as well and hopefully he'll keep on improving.

He’s after having two quick runs so we’ll freshen him up a bit and he’ll be a nice horse for the grass. He ran well in Navan on his first run over five.
