I think a lot of this horse. He came out of the race on Saturday well and he is a good, tough horse,. We are hoping that he will turn into a top novice. He is rated well into the 90s on the flat and has been running in Listed and Group races all year. We are hoping that he will keep improving. We will see what is available for him now and probably give him another race or two before Christmas, then we will give him a break and see where we are going. He handles most ground and won on good at Leopardstown on Saturday.

I have him declared for Monday (over hurdles at Wexford) and we have schooled him a little bit. It's the first time all year that the handicapper gave him a little bit of a chance. He definitely is a horse that needs a bit more give in the ground, that's just good out there. I'll have to make up my mind now whether we run on Monday or not but knowing me he probably will. He's a good hardy bit of stuff. He might just need the experience on Monday, we haven't over schooled him but we've schooled him alright because the handicapper wasn't giving him a chance and we said we'd see how we go over hurdles. I think he could make a nice hurdler, he's a good honest horse.

He won the Madrid early in the year and he’s been consistent all year. He’s a very tough horse and he likes the ground.

The 6lb probably stopped the other lad. It would have been a good contest between the two of them last week but the handicapper gave him 6lb,. The winner is nicely handicapped and I think he'll stay a bit further, I'd say that's what won it on the day. He'll probably get a mile, and a mile-and-a-bit. He's a good honest horse. Chris said he was under a little bit of pressure most of the way but he was staying on. Out there it's no exceptional pace you want but just to stay on. If the racing keeps going, on heavy ground, we'll have to see where we go next with him. The handicapper mightn't be that impressed with me!. It's nice to have the money in the pot. In Dundalk we were hitting the cross-bar but we weren't running many there, just tricking along this year. The whole of the team seem to be in good form and I was anxious for this to go ahead.

he stuck at it well. He was a fraction slow away and was nearly in top gear the whole way. In the last furlong he was only getting going. He's still a bit green and I think he'll improve again off that. Well done to Mick for running him back like that before he got the 7lb (ratings hike). Hopefully he'll win again. He's a good honest horse and tries hard. He wants further.
