I bought him off James Whelan and I named him History Of Fashion because his relation, Height O'Fashion, was second to Arkle here: it's all a big story but it came right today. It's a great syndicate from Limerick and Clare, headed by Stephen Murphy. I'm very lucky with the very few owners I have: only for them there wouldn't be days like this. If you have a few owners it's amazing what you can do. They'll get some kick out of it. As long as we're buying horses we'll have days like this again.

He won around here (January 2022) and he ran well enough the last time (January) when he got stopped at the fence past the stand when the other horse made a mistake in front of him. He was second in the Porterstown (last December). If he comes up enough, he will go to the Porterstown, absolutely. He ran well in the Irish National (fifth). He won't go a yard on tacky ground. When you have only a few of them, you need things to go right and sure the ground was right up here. When things go right for him, he would go another mile. He's only getting going.

he comes from the family of Height Of Fashion (runner-up to Arkle in the 1964 Irish Grand National) and I was trying to sell him one time and told everybody about this, but they wouldn't listen. I said 'I'll win the Irish National - we won't have Arkle to beat!' but they were laughing at me. It's very much on the cards now as needs a trip and if it was another mile. he'd just be coming into it. He jumps a bit to the right but he is a lovely horse and I'm delighted with that.
