He’s been in great form since Galway. Sophie who has been riding him out said she couldn’t hold him anymore. I rode him out then and to be fair to her she was right. He seemed to come alive on the way to Galway and since we put the blinkers and tongue tie on him. I said to Tom ‘imagine you made me run him on quick ground here in the summer’. But Tom (Quinn, owner) said at the time he wasn’t worth worrying about and he was frustrating. I’ve always held him in high regard and ran him in the Troytown last year. I’ve always thought he was in the same bracket as Prince Of Tara, who won the Troytown. We could look at that again and he’ll campaign in those three mile races over the winter. I feel sorry for Keith Donoghue. The horse lost his confidence in the past jumping and he got him going again. I was even going to let him carry 2lb overweight and I suppose I could have let him carry 7lb over today the way he won.

Keith (Donoghue) thought he went slow at Ballinrobe, and today wanted to make the running, but I told him to wait until the fourth last before sending him on - he probably won too far but it was good to win. I thought a lot of him as a young horse and minded him but he has been disappointing to say the least. He'll go for something similar next.

Coming here today I'd have been disappointed if he didn't show a return to some form and Tom Quinn (owner) had a nice few quid on him at 33's. I'm a dreamer but he is a horse that I've held in the same regard as Prince Of Tara who won the Troytown - he gallops all day and jumps like a buck. It's a long way to get to a Troytown but I can see this lad progressing along those lines. Ger (Fox) is originally from near me and reminds me a bit of Barry Geraghty when Barry was starting off. I'm not saying he's as good but he rides well and comes to me once a week to ride out and school.
