It wasn't a great contest but she stayed on well to win. The rest of them must have stopped! I thought she was caught on the line. She will go to Thurles in three weeks' time for a mares chase.

I thought I was being clever coming here this time of year for an easy race but it turned out to be a competitive race!. She acts well on a sharp track like this and will now have a few more runs on the Flat before Galway. She is well handicapped on the Flat and with a mark of 124, we'll try to get her into the Galway Hurdle.

Sean (McDermott) gave her a very canny ride and dictated things from the front very well. Gudnis Gracious Me will go next for the Smithwicks Handicap Hurdle at Listowel next but there isn't a whole lot left for her before the ground turns soft.

It's a bit of a surprise as I thought she would need the run badly. She hasn't run in a while and takes quite a lot to get fit. Freshness got her through,. She'll mix it on the Flat and over hurdles but may struggle a bit now off a revised mark. She might even jump a fence later in the summer. She's as tough as nails.

I didn't think she was good enough to win today as there looked to be a few good horses in the race. I thought the track would suit her. We have her in a flat race on Monday in Ballinrobe so we'll probably go there next.

She'd not run since Saturday so I thought she might just need it,. She's unbelievably lazy and I thought the track might be against her but Shane made up her mind. She's probably a bit unlucky not to have won over hurdles and will go over fences at some stage.
