He has been a great money spinner. Hopefully he will be okay as he has had leg trouble in the past. You could call him frustrating but he is always in the money and he never runs a bad race. I just hope he is okay in the morning. Davy said he wasn't having a cut at his fences. He would prefer more of an ease in the ground. We will have a talk with Eddie and Michael (O'Leary) now to see where he goes next, but he will probably stick to the conditions race and maybe go for a few handicaps. Today was the stroke of the century!

Far Away So Close is at pretty much the same mark over hurdles as his chase mark and hopefully he can prove competitive from a light weight in a handicap chase at some stages. However I'd hope the handicapper would drop him for his win today as he has beaten horses which shouldn't have finished as close to him and he has also taken a long time to win his beginners' chase. He should be a bit better on better ground but is an exposed horse. He's won four races for me and is placed most days he runs, so I wouldn't mind having a few more like him all the same!

I'm delighted with the battling qualities he showed today. He missed the last three hurdles and Davy felt he had loads of horse going to the last but he missed that too. He has come back with a dirty over-reach though. We thought he had a small issue with going right-handed after he hung at Thurles early in the year. However he had a tooth problem at the time so we thought we'd try him again this way today and Davy said it wasn't a factor there. That obviously opens more doors for him. Davy said he didn't have as hard a race there as it looked. A strong run two miles suits him and he will go for the For Auction race at Navan (a Grade 3 on November 7th) now.

He always seemed to make a mistake at a crucial stage before. He should stay a bit further than two miles and is from the family of Newmill.
