we’re in real bonus territory with him now because that’s his sixth win for the yard. I expected him to run well — I couldn’t believe he drifted in the betting - but he did it easy in the end. He was up there all the way and that’s the best way to ride him. Paul had a word with Danny Mullins, who normally rides him, and he was excellent on him today. He’s very versatile trip-wise, and he’ll even go on a bit of soft ground. It’s really about if you can get away in front on him and dictate it on his terms, like he did today. I think that’s more important to him than the trip. We’ll see what the handicapper does with him, but we'll be looking for something similar.

we had no explanation for his Killarney run. He came out of the race perfect. We actually rode him out the next day and we normally wouldn't. I saw this over two miles and I thought it would suit him. I was a bit worried when I saw the last was to be omitted. My initial thoughts were that there wasn't an awful lot in it, but when I saw the head on there was enough. I obviously feel sorry for Paul Power (trainer of Bakers Street) and Jeannie Cook, I know them well and they are friends of mine. Dark Outsider has been a great servant and that's his fifth win. He'll go to Tramore next week - he is probably better going left-handed but he has won around Tramore before. Danny was brilliant on him. He has always been the key to him. We have hit the cross bar a few times recently so it's great to get this.

He won off a mark of 79 and has won four races now which is fantastic. Danny was brilliant on him again. The race just didn't work out the last day at Tramore and we took a chance bringing him back again fairly soon. He's a good ground horse bit it's still raining and the ground is loose. He's a very good jumper and is probably a bit better going left-handed.

We knew he was in good form coming here but was afraid he might need the run. He ran well off a break last season and I was hoping he would do the same today. I thought Danny (Mullins) was excellent on him as he waited and waited and timed his run. Danny deserves big credit as he got a heavy fall in the first race (from Sunday At Augusta) and could have been stood down. He is all bandaged up on his face but is a hardy bit of stuff and I'm delighted he was on him as he gets a great tune out of him. He's a great little horse and that's his third win and there's a possibility he could mix hurdles and fences for the summer now. I'm delighted for the owners (Bayshaven Syndicate); John O'Brien isn't here but wasn't here the last time he won too so we might keep him away next time!. These winners are hard to come by so we treasure them we they do come and I'll have five or six horses for the summer. Most of my owners are locals and this is the second nearest track from my base in Bandon but I'd absolutely welcome more.

Danny is flying at the moment and gave him a great ride,. I took a bit of a chance running him with just a seven days turnaround from Clonmel but there was a big incentive with just a 4lb penalty instead of the 8lb. He's a bit better going left-handed and did well to win going right-handed on a tight track like this. He wouldn't go on real winter ground but if there was some nice ground near the end of the month we might be tempted to run him again. We have always been very lucky around here.

He has been hitting the crossbar and has been unlucky more than anything else up to now. He is owned by a great bunch of lads who love their racing but weren't able to come today. They're a three member syndicate from Crosshaven and the girl leading him up, Jenny O'Brien, her father John is a member. He'll stay chasing next.
