I waited five months for a winner, now I've had three in a week (The Crafty Butcher at Clonmel last Thursday and A Fine Young Man at Cork on Sunday). Jody gave him a great. He went down the inside which was the right thing to do. That is his first time winning over three miles but he is a class horse and he should have a Paddy Power Chase at Cheltenham to his name but he has been unlucky.

I said to Frank Berry after his run at Fairyhouse (on Wednesday) that I wanted to run him here as he had more than a bit of work done. The young fella (Jody McGarvey) just misjudged things the last day. I told him to drop him in but he ended up nearly a furlong behind!. These races are great opportunities and I hope they don't do away with them. I brought Church Island over to England to run in one of them and he was rejuvenated after it. I'm hoping there will be one around Christmas for Dancing Tornado.

He didn't jump well on is last couple of runs over fences and we wanted to sharpen him up a bit,. I'm delighted that Adrian got a chance to ride him. He's a good kid and that's his eleventh winner. He's only 17 so I'm minding him a bit. The winner will probably go back chasing now. A New Story also ran some race (fourth) and will go to Cheltenham now for the cross-country.

He was probably lucky. It's better to be lucky than unlucky. He had plenty of ability over hurdles last season. David said he jumped well. He said they went too fast and came back to him. He has won a race every year since I've had him. It is nice to get a winner for the green and gold! (J P McManus).
