That really wasn't him. I fancied him that day but he just never showed up. His work at home has been quite good and I'm delighted he's put himself back on track. He's a horse with a big turn of foot. I was anxious the day I rode him in Punchestown that it could have been a little bit far for him. He does plenty when he's on the bridle so I had to get him switched off. He's a very quick horse so that trip isn't too sharp for him. We put a claimer on him the last day. It probably wasn't the claimer's fault because he got his instructions to ride closer to the pace and I think we used him up a little bit too much. Today when Sean got him relaxed, he was just a different kettle of fish. He's a brilliant jumper and he's a nice horse. He's going to get a fair old penalty for today so it might knock him out of handicaps. We'll enter him in the Grand Annual (at Cheltenham), but I would imagine he's going to have a lot of weight in that. I would think we'd probably look at Grade Threes. We'll have a look where we go. I thought he'd go for a two-mile-five handicap in Leopardstown at the (Dublin) Festival meeting, but I'd say that's a 150 race and I don't think he'd get into that now.

He struggled all last season with a tooth. We didn't know what it was and he went to the vets several times, eventually they had to take a tooth out as he had an abscess under it. That's what was probably annoying him for so long. He came back and held his condition. He's actually not that long back, he doesn't take a lot of work. The worry was would he get the trip but he's got it well and went through the ground well. He was a very nice novice hurdler and that tooth obviously had been annoying him for quite some time. He's some jumper, he was brilliant. I'm not sure how far he'll get and I'm not sure where we got next.

I know when they are 1/2 or 1/3 it sounds simple but they still have to go out and do it. He schooled very well at home and I told him not to try to do anything fancy on him and try to get him over his fences. He will jump better when he has to. If he stays right I think he is a very nice horse. He had a problem with his knee over hurdles and never really got a chance to show himself. It happened early as a novice but hopefully it won't rare its head again. There are a lot of Gigginstown horses in the mix for novice chases this season so we'll see where he fits in. Trying to get a run was a problem but now that he has that won, the winners' races will be next and Michael wants to go for good races. We'll go for a novice chase and see where we go from there.

he should improve a lot as he’s had an infection on the top of his wither and he had to do work without a jockey for quite a while. Sean (Flanagan) said he jumped well and picked up well. We thought he was a nice horse last year. Hopefully he can go on now from this and go somewhere decent. It wasn’t the plan to make the running but it worked out well around that track as it’s quite tight.

We thought he was fairly sharp and he's much sharper than those bumper horses we've been running and has more pace. The danger was he has been doing everything so easy that he really hasn't been taken off the bridle. I'd assume he'll go straight over hurdles now and unlike a lot of them (Gigginstown House Stud-type runners), you wouldn't be afraid of running him over two miles. Sean (Flanagan) rode him work before he ran in a point-to-point last year and liked him and when he went to the Sales, we were lucky enough Eddie (O'Leary) bought him for us to train.
