that wasn't plan A but Ross used his head and gave him a great ride. He did it well in the end. He's a good horse and that's nine he's after winning for us over the years. The plan was to give him a break as he's in a while; he ran during the summer and won one for us at the Curragh and the plan was to give him a break and we'll probably stick to it.

He's won over five, six and seven now and that's his first win over five,. He had a couple of good runs in premier handicaps and we knew if he came up with those runs again he'd go close. He's probably not a typical five furlong sprinter but he is class. Ian gets on well with him and has from the start. Claiming 7lb off 10st 1lb is a big help.

He ran very free last Sunday, and the plan was to drop him in and switch him off. Colin said he would have been an unlucky loser today. He's a good horse but difficult to keep right because he has problems with mucus, and has spent plenty of time out in the paddock. He may go to Tipperary next weekend.

He was sick all last year. We couldn't get him right and it was a nightmare. He ran a lovely race at Down Royal first-time up, but I don't know what happened him in the Curragh. He was mad all day. He was sweating up and ran three races before the start [at the Curragh]. Then he stood in the stalls. Everything fell into place today. He's a real good horse if we get him back. There could be a big handicap in him if things go right. Chris Hayes said last year that he could be one for a big handicap at Galway, but then he got sick again.

He's a nice horse and he'll get an entry for the Birdcatcher at Naas (on October 16th), though the ground might be too soft for him then. He's got his maiden now and the bonus (£10K Racing Post Yearling Bonus scheme) and the plan all along was to get the bonus. We'll look at the Birdcatcher now and I don't know about after that.
