That’s great. He’s back in business , not bad for an old boy. He ran very well in Limerick but now that he’s a little bit older he’s not quickening up. So we just thought we’d try him over this trip even though he hadn’t run over it in a long time. Derek gave him a super ride. He gave him a little bit of light out on a little bit better ground and he said he really enjoyed it. It’s lovely for the owner Mr Moore. He’s had so much patience as this horse has broken down twice. He’s given him the time to come back each time. It’s paid off today. Now that I know he does stay he has a lot more options. He probably needs the three miles now as he’s more comfortable going that pace.

He's going the right way and hopefully there's another one in him. Two and a half miles is his trip and he probably wants better ground. Two years ago when he was really right, he won on faster ground at Gowran and he was at his most impressive then.

He was good the last day when he won his beginners' chase. It was a question of where to go at this time of year as the novices are so hot. He had dropped him a bit over hurdles from what he was at at his best. It was a chance to win another one with him. Hopefully he'll be able to compete in the novices (chases) later in Spring.

He is back to what he was a couple of years ago. He looked good as a novice but he wasn't right at all last year. He took to fences well which is a big plus and his jumping was exceptional today. He got a good ride. His handicap mark is probably spoilt now but there are plenty of novice races for him. He will get three miles on better ground in the spring.

Canaly is a nice horse who is stepping up the ladder all the time. He'll probably go to Punchestown next but he'll hardly take in Fairyhouse too as they are so close together. He'd prefer two and a half miles when stepped up in class and, being by Bob Back, has a preference for better ground.

that was a good performance by Canaly and he liked that better ground. We'll aim him at something at Fairyhouse and Punchestown next.

He ran a good race at Leopardstown at Christmas on his first run back and he had his chance today. Paddy said that he lost his reins after the last and that they came a bit close. This horse should win a novice hurdle and he goes on good ground as well.
