I got an unbelievable kick out of that. I can't believe it, he hasn't won a race for four years. All the drama the other day and all the effing and blinding that went with it - I'm in shock!. racing is so funny with the twists and turns. Myself and Keith were at loggerheads with each other on Thursday but we're back today and he gave the horse an absolute genius of a ride. He's a horse that struggles to keep going sometimes when he comes off the bridle. Fair play to Keith as it was a masterclass of a ride and I'm over the moon to win the banks race. He battled and jumped brilliant. I won it as an amateur for Ted and this fella has been a great servant to us. He's 11-years of age and has won six races now, we have him since he was three. I didn't think he'd win another race, I thought he was coming to the end of his tether. I can't believe it and it's the best kick I've got in a long time. It's like a drug and you couldn't bottle it.

He’s a horse with issues — muscles, back trouble and everything like that going,. There’s been a lot of work done on him over the summer. He got into a rhythm today — he loved it - a pair of blinkers on him, Ruby on him — and from the word go you could tell after three fences that today would be good a day for him. He ran over hurdles recently and he just didn’t enjoy himself. If you could just keep him right — he won his point-to-point by twenty five lengths. He won his bumper then by ten and we thought he was the real deal. Things just didn’t work out for him. If you can keep him right it clicks and it clicked today. All the big handicap chases are now back on the agenda if we can just keep him right.

He won well today but it probably wasn't the strongest race in the world. It's good to get that out of the way. He won his point-to-point by twenty-five lengths and we thought he was going to be a Grade 1 horse. He then won his bumper by ten lengths with Katie on him. He is way better over fences and there might be a staying handicap chase in him down the line. He will probably stay in novice company for the moment. He is owned by Charles and Zorka Wentworth and they have been very good to me and Katie over the years. They bought Caspar Netscher from Katie.
